MCAC Volleyball Names the 2025 All-Division, All-MCAC, and All-Region 13 Teams

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) volleyball coaches have selected their 18-member North and South All-Division teams, coaches-of-the-year, and players-of-the-year for 2025. The top nine vote-getters from each division were also named to the All-MCAC Team, and the top six were named to the All-Region 13 Team.

The MCAC North Player of the Year is Aspen Gentele, an outside hitter for Alexandria Technical and Community College. In 27 matches for Alexandria, Gentele had 238 kills, averaging 2.56 kills per set. She hit .219 on the season and .294 in MCAC North Division action. Gentele also had 24 service aces, 19 assists, 160 digs, and 46 total blocks. The sophomore hitter helped her Legends team to an MCAC North Division title and the #1 seed in the NJCAA North Plains District 13B Tournament. 

Jason Smith, head coach at Alexandria Technical and Community College, was named the MCAC North Division Coach of the Year. Coach Smith led his Legends team to a 19-8 overall record and an 11-1 record in the MCAC North. Alexandria College won the MCAC North Division title and earned the #1 seed in the NJCAA North Plains District 13B Tournament. Smith's team lost to Ridgewater College in the semifinals of that tournament to end their season. 

The MCAC South Player of the Year is Sadie Krahling, an outside hitter for Minnesota West Community and Technical College. Krahling tallied 384 kills in 34 matches this season, hitting .187 and averaging 3.69 kills per set. Her 384 kills rank her third in the MCAC South. Krahling also had 28 assists, 311 digs, and 34 blocks over her 104 sets played this season. Krahling totaled 27 service aces and did not commit an error from the service line all season. With Krahling's outstanding season, the Lady Jays won the MCAC South Division title and earned the #1 seed in the NJCAA North Plains District 13A Tournament, which they went on to win, qualifying them for the NJCAA DIII Volleyball National Tournament.

Britney McNab, head coach at Minnesota West Community and Technical College, was selected as the MCAC South Division Coach of the Year. The Lady Jays, under Coach McNab's leadership, are 35-4 overall, and they went 15-1 in the MCAC South this season. McNab's team won the MCAC South Division and the NJCAA North Plains District 13A Tournament. The Lady Jays will be the #2 seed at the 2025 NJCAA DIII Volleyball National Tournament, the exact spot where they finished the 2024 season.

In addition to selecting their All-Division, All-MCAC, and All-Region Teams, the head coaches from each division also chose their Team Sportsmanship Award honorees. In the MCAC North, Minnesota North College-Vermilion was chosen as the team demonstrating the best sportsmanship throughout the season, their second consecutive year earning the award. In the MCAC South, a three-way tie occurred, so the Team Sportsmanship Awards were presented to Anoka-Ramsey Community College, Minnesota State Community and Technical College, and Western Technical College for exhibiting the best sportsmanship among the MCAC South volleyball programs.
