Coach Peterson to coach Voyageurs Men's Basketball in 2025-2026
Minnesota North College – Rainy River announces the hiring of new men’s basketball coach, Blake Peterson.
Peterson will be entering his first season as the Head Men's basketball coach at Rainy River in 2025. In addition to coaching, Peterson will also serve as a physical education teacher for Minnesota North College. He is a native of Coon Rapids MN and will be entering his 13th season as a college basketball coach.
In his most recent season's, he was an assistant at Miami Dade Community College and Iowa Central Community College. Before that he helped lead Southwestern CC to a 29-7 record where the Spartans made a run to the JUCO DII Men's Final Four. Peterson also has 4 years of NCAA DII assistant experience with a three year stint at Minnesota State University Mankato and one year at Bemidji State University. In his 3 years at Mankato, he helped the Mavericks to 86 wins with 3 conference championships and 2 trips to the NCAA DII Sweet 16.
