2026 MCAC Softball All-Division and All-MCAC Teams Announced

The Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) has announced the 2026 MCAC Softball All-Division awards and the All-MCAC Team.

MCAC Softball was split into two divisions during the 2026 season, with Anoka-Ramsey Community College, Minnesota West Community and Technical College, Ridgewater College, Rochester Community and Technical College, and St. Cloud Technical and Community College competing in the South Division. Central Lakes College, Minnesota North College-Itasca, Minnesota North College-Rainy River, Minnesota North College-Vermilion, and Northland Community and Technical College competed in the North Division.

Following the conclusion of the regular season, MCAC softball coaches nominated and voted on players from each division to be named to the first or second team of the respective divisions.  The top-ranked player from each division was named the Player of the Year.  The coach of the year was also voted on for each division. The first team members from each all-division team were also named to the All-MCAC Team.

Central Lakes College second baseman, Megan Hattenberger, earned the MCAC North Division Player-of-the-Year honor.  In 44 games this season, Hattenberger hit .386 in 132 at-bats. She collected 51 hits with eight doubles, four triples, and a home run. Hattenberger also drove in 40 runs and scored 39. She walked 18 times, and had an on-base percentage of .458 and a slugging percentage of .530. The sophomore from Moose Lake, MN, ranked 1st in the MCAC North Division in hits, batting average, and on-base percentage. In the field, Hattenberger had 71 put-outs and 57 assists in 138 chances, committing only 10 errors this season. Her fielding percentage was .928 on the season.  

Ray Austin, Central Lakes College head softball coach, earned the MCAC North Division Coach-of-the-Year honor.  Coach Austin led the Raiders to a 26-18 overall record and a 15-1 record in the MCAC North Division. Central Lakes won the North Division title and earned the North's top seed in the NJCAA Region 13 Tournament. The Raiders advanced to the region's final four tournament, but fell short of advancing past the double-elimination round after losses to NDSCS and St. Cloud Tech.

Keeliana Doran, second baseman for St. Cloud Technical and Community College, has earned the South Division Softball Player-of-the-Year honor.  In 34 games, Doran hit .467 on the season. She hit 25 singles, 13 doubles, and 4 triples, for a total of 42 hits in her 90 at-bats. The freshman ranked second in the MCAC South in triples and third in doubles. Doran drove in 24 runs and scored 29 runs, while walking 18 times. She stole 23 bases, ranking her third in the MCAC. Her on-base percentage was .556, leading the MCAC South, and she had a slugging percentage of .700. In the field, Doran had a .942 fielding percentage. In 120 total chances, she had 57 put-outs and 56 assists.  

St. Cloud Technical and Community College head softball coach Greg Thorstad was named the MCAC South Division Coach of the Year.  Coach Thorstad led the Cyclones to an MCAC South Division title by going 32-10 on the season and 14-2 in South Division play. The Cyclones hosted the NJCAA Region 13 Tournament as the top seed and advanced to the championship game. Thorstad's team lost to NDSCS, but as the Region 13 runner-up, the Cyclones advanced to the North Plains District Championship Series and will play at Joliet Junior College on Friday with the opportunity to advance to the NJCAA National Tournament.
